Compendio blades have a lighter feel than forged blades while offering superb performance. The edge is handcrafted into a convex shape. That is, the blade has a rounded profile and tapers into a sharp edge. This type of shape keeps much of the metal behind the edge, making it stronger , while enabling it to stay sharp longer than conventional “V” shaped blades. A unique glass bead blasting process gives the Compendio Berti knives a satin matte finish and a contemporary look., This is an exploration into a different finishing of the steel surface that creates a beautiful effect, while maintaining the top performance that discerning customers expect from Berti knives.

Coltellerie Berti has a long history of steel, fire, and skilled hands. It was founded as an artisan workshop by David Berti in 1895, and today, under the guidance of his great grandson Andrea, it continues its production in the Tuscan countryside, 25 miles north of Florence, Italy, making handmade knives, all by Italian artisans.
