Marco. An Introduction to Polo. Third Edition. 1950. Book and dust jacket are both in good plus condition--small stain to bottom page edges and lower corner of boards (concealed by jacket) and minor bumped corner, and small edge tears to jacket. Preface by the Earl Mountbatten of Burma.
The author, “Marco,” is actually a witty pseudonym for Lord Mountbatten (pun clearly intended). He wrote the entire book, and though his actual polo-playing skills were reported to be unexceptional, he understood the technique of the game brilliantly, and this has become a classic book on the sport. Includes b & w photogravure plates. Uncommon in dust jacket.
