Anthony, Norman. The Drunk’s Blue Book. First Edition. 1933. Book and dust jacket are both in very good minus condition—light fraying to jacket edges and discoloration to spine.
This book seeks to correct a grave injustice. Though bridge players, expectant mothers, and other such groups have stacks of self-help manuals from which to choose, there were none for the drunk (until this light-hearted volume). With the assistance of cartoon illustration, the book offers etiquette for both the drinker and his beleaguered wife (“Never ask him where he’s been. You will probably read about in tomorrow’s papers.”).
