This wine has become our blockbuster success story! Over a thousand customers have tasted this wine and not one has said they didn't love it! Chocolate Shop is a red wine from the Walla Walla appellation of Washington state. The blend is a secret but my taste buds tell me there's a little Cabernet, Merlot and perhaps a drop of Sangiovese. The wine is infused with a delicate amount of natural dark chocolate, the process is also a secret, but the results are worth shouting about.
Served chilled(my preference) the wine explodes with aromas of dark chocolates filled with cherry liquor. The sweetness only hits on the mid-palate and is mild and restrained...not quite Port like yet sweeter that a table wine. The finish is actually dry and clean making this a great match to cookies, biscotti and cheesecake, BUT, the best match I've done so far was with a juicy bacon cheese burger...OMG did this wine wash that burger down! Like Sauternes with Foie Gras! Later on I tried it with braised short ribs and then a ribeye steak...all amazing matches. Chocolate Shop is remarkably versatile and best of all it stays fresh and tasty for weeks after the bottle is opened.
